Export volume of trucks in Jilin province increases by 169.8% in H1

According to the statistics of Changchun Customs, in the first half of this year, Jilin province exported 3,993 trucks, an increase of 169.8 percent over the same period last year. The total value of exported trucks reached 620 million yuan, up 276.4 percent. In June, 736 trucks were exported, up 683 percent, and the export value was 89.306 million yuan, up 745 percent. ASEAN, Russia and Mexico were the main export markets. The truck export of the province to countries along the Belt and Road increased significantly, accounting for 44.7 percent of the total export volume.

The strong growth of domestic medium and heavy truck exports benefits from the excellent product quality and the initiative of truck export enterprises to exploit markets and to respond to market changes. Since this year, truck export enterprises in the province have seized the market opportunities of recovering major foreign trade markets, starting infrastructure projects and expanding road logistics transport, and has kept improving their sales structure and increasing the sales proportion of medium and heavy trucks, according to Li Na, a supply chain management expert from the International Trade Service Department of FAW Group Import & Export Co Ltd. Meanwhile, the local truck export enterprises have focused on establishing an overseas marketing system, added overseas network companies, customer service centers, service providers, as well as spare parts warehouses, reached cooperation agreements with importers around the world and successfully appealed to the international market in the sales season.

To support the province’s truck export industrial chain, Changchun Customs has given full play to its functional advantages and issued a series of measures including the fast customs clearance of auto parts, the enlarged scope of AEO certification programs, the implementation of preferential policies on Certificate of Origin and the strengthened measure research on technical trade, so as to promote the quality upgrading of truck products and to improve the competitiveness of the automobile export of the province.
